An Cafe Vietnamese Street Food

If there’s one cuisine that never disappoints, it’s Vietnamese. It’s fresh, fragrant, full of herbs, grilled meats, rich broths and that perfect balance of crunch, heat and zing.

For over a decade, An Café has been quietly dishing up exactly that. What started as a humble weekend market stall back in 2013 has grown into Kangaroo Point’s go-to for some pho-king amazing (sorry, we had to) Vietnamese food. Tucked along Main Street, the food’s made with the same flavour and care it had from day one, thanks to Mum’s secret recipes.

The best part, of course, is the extensive menu, which focuses on Vietnamese street and comfort food. Everything here is made fresh, from the marinades to the broths and it shows. The pho is deep and fragrant, the rice paper rolls are light and loaded and the chargrilled banh mi and noodle salad are smoky, satisfying standouts. And for those who know their Vietnamese, they’ve also got Bun Bo Hue. The spicy, lemongrassy cousin to pho that comes in swinging with serious flavour.

Best of all, you can eat like a king and still afford your next coffee. Nothing on the menu creeps over $22, which is pretty rare these days and no, that’s not a typo. If you’re rolling in for lunch, the $16, $24 or $28 combos (drink included) run daily from 11 to 4 and are genuinely great value.

You can sit in, order at the counter, scan from your table or just grab it to go. It’s quick, casual and actually convenient. BYO is allowed too, with no corkage. Just bring your bottle and you’re sorted.

They’re open seven days a week from 11am to 9pm, and yes, there’s parking out the back so you won’t be circling Main Street like a vulture.
