Suburb Highlight

Woolloongabba

Woolloongabba is an inner-south Brisbane suburb known for its mix of heritage charm, sports culture and evolving food scene. Once an industrial hub and tramway junction, it's now home to antique stores, small bars, and The Gabba stadium. The name Woolloongabba comes from a Yugarapul word thought to mean whirling waters or meeting place, reflecting the area's natural creeks and cultural significance long before colonisation. Today, Woolloongabba is home to around 8,700 residents and continues to grow as a vibrant inner-city suburb.
