Love handmade ceramics? Sucker for a good painting? Low key addicted to cute market finds you absolutely don’t need but will definitely buy? Then cancel your Saturday plans because The Great Artist Market Winter edition is back at Felons this weekend.
From 8am to 3pm, Felons Barrel Hall and the riverfront lawn will be packed with over 70 local makers slinging ceramics, prints, jewellery and all kinds of creative goodness. There’ll be vinyl DJ sets spinning all day, free barrel beer tastings and a dog friendly lawn so even your pup can soak up some culture.
For the kids (or the young at heart), there’s free paste up workshops, face painting and balloon twisting. And if you get peckish, you’ll find fresh pastries, focaccia sandos, zippy morning brews on tap and a strawberry matcha that’s already causing a scene.
Keep an eye out for some of Brisbane’s most talented creatives, like Sarah Capon, who brings stories to life through intricate paper layers and Pat Makes, a ceramic artist crafting wearable clay creations straight out of their West End home studio. And for something truly one of a kind (and a little unhinged in the best way), stop by Bad Pet Portraits by Katherine Viney. She’ll draw your pet “badly” but trust us, it’s weirdly cute.
