Alright, if pitching a tent isn’t quite your thing but you’re still keen to get out of the city, The Avocado Tree Farm is your answer.
Set on a working avocado farm near Amamoor, the stays are limited to just a few options, which keeps things quiet and spaced out. There are two tiny homes, Claudine and Henry, both set up for a simple, off-grid stay with views over the orchard and surrounding hills. Then there’s Mouenui, their beach house option if you’re looking to split your trip between the valley and the coast.

The tiny homes are compact but well thought out. Proper bed, small kitchen, bathroom, and a deck that ends up being where you spend most of your time. It’s comfortable without being overdone, and the setup makes sense for a couple of nights away.
It’s fully off-grid, so solar power, rainwater, and no Wi-Fi. You’re not coming here to stay connected, it’s more about having a quiet base to return to after a day exploring the region.
Works well if you want something low effort but still feel like you’ve properly stepped out of the city.
