Thai Smile Cooking

Don’t let the size fool you. Tucked away on Logan Road in Mt Gravatt, Thai Smile Cooking is proof that Brisbane’s best Thai food often comes in the humblest packages. This genuinely small, unassuming shopfront is for those seeking authentic, soul warming Thai cuisine made with a smile.

The chef owner often pops out from the kitchen with a grin as big as the flavours on the plate (that’s where the name comes from). The vibe is relaxed, the welcome is genuine and the regulars clearly feel at home.

Run by a passionate family team, Thai Smile is all about homemade authenticity. Their focus is squarely on the food, fresh ingredients and traditional recipes passed down through generations. Beyond classics like vibrant Pad Thai and aromatic curries, delve into treasures like Hor Mok Talay – a fragrant, banana leaf steamed seafood curry custard, or Goong Ob Woon Sen, where king prawns and glass noodles shimmer in a garlic pepper broth.

Adventurous palates shouldn’t miss the Nam Tok (Waterfall Salad), a fiery Esaan-style grilled beef or pork salad toasted with rice powder, herbs and lime. Every dish tastes cooked with care, just like you’d find in a Thai home kitchen.

It’s a small spot worth visiting if you want good Thai in Mt Gravatt.
