Snug

Where Korean-inspired brunch
meets suburban charm

If you haven’t heard about Snug yet, you’re probably not paying attention. Tucked away on Chatsworth Road in Coorparoo, this little spot has been quietly winning over Brisbane’s foodies since it opened last year. Run by chefs Leaham Claydon and Jianne Jeoung, a couple who met while working at some of Brisbane’s best restaurants, Snug is part café, part wine bar, and all heart.

Housed in a converted former trophy shop, Snug is a masterclass in understated elegance. Timber dominates the space, from the striking custom benchtop by Makimaki to the minimalist tables and chairs. Olive-green accents and lush plants add a touch of softness, while handmade ceramics is crafted by Jeoung’s aunties in Daejong, South Korea, bringing a personal, artisanal touch. The result is a space that feels both timeless and deeply personal, a perfect reflection of the couple’s vision.

The Daytime Menu

The menu is tight but impactful, with each dish showcasing their knack for blending Korean flavours with classic brunch staples.

  • Prawn Omurice: A showstopper that’s as Instagram-worthy as it is delicious.
  • Scrambled Egg Drop Milk Bread: Buttery scrambled eggs nestled in a soft  brioche, with a subtle kick of gochujang for depth
  • Soft Pretzels & Salty Butter Rolls: Perfectly baked and dangerously addictive.

Pair your meal with a cup of ST ALi’s Wide Awake blend, a dark roast with notes of chocolate and caramel.

At night, Snug shifts gears, turning into a wine bar with a menu of small, shareable plates. The Korean influence is still there, but it’s more subtle, think soy-marinated raw prawns, beef tartare with gochujang, and dumplings in a rich shiitake broth.

Snug is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re in on a secret, even if half of Brisbane already knows about it. Whether you’re here for brunch, wine, or just the vibes, it’s a must-visit.
