Winter’s got its bite but that’s half the fun out here. Warwick doesn’t shy away when the temps drop. It rolls out the wool, cranks up the jazz and shows you just how good country Queensland can be when you lean into the chill.
Jumpers & Jazz in July is Queensland’s quirkiest winter festival, turning Warwick’s streets into a colourful yarn wonderland each year. From 17 to 27 July 2025, this country town will once again come alive with more than 90 trees dressed in playful knitted and crocheted jumpers, all crafted by local and visiting fibre artists. It’s like strolling through an outdoor gallery where every tree tells a different story and this year’s Enchanted Forest theme promises oversized fungi, curious critters and magical scenes hidden among the branches.

But it’s not just about the woolly art. Live jazz drifts out from laneways, churches and street corners, with everything from smooth sax solos to lively swing bands and pop-up dance sessions. The festival also hosts markets filled with local crafts and winter treats, perfect for picking up a handmade scarf or sampling hearty country food.

Visitors can join workshops, meet the artists or simply wander through Warwick’s historic streets and soak up the atmosphere. There’s even a Grand Auto Display and plenty of cosy cafes and pubs to warm up in between sets. For locals and road trippers alike, Jumpers & Jazz is all about creativity, community spirit and the simple joy of celebrating winter together.
