Pawpaw Café

Let’s be real. In a city overrun with neon lit Thai spots, Pawpaw Café is the quiet rebel. It’s light and bright, with contemporary, chic styling. As you walk in, you’ll see a floral wallpaper panel that stands out against the white walls. And honestly? We’re here for it.

The menu leans Thai, with a few crowd pleasers from the breakfast and lunch crowd. But it’s the Thai plates that do the heavy lifting. Massaman beef comes slow cooked and tender, with depth and balance. Southern stir-fried crispy pork comes tossed in yellow curry paste with kaffir lime, lemongrass and chilli or try the popcorn tofu with Thai laab spices. Green papaya salad also hits all the right notes, fresh, sour, sweet and spicy, in the right order.

Over the years, it has built a reputation for consistency and quality, drawing repeat visits from families, friends and solo diners alike. For anyone seeking clear, balanced Thai cooking in Woolloongabba, Pawpaw Café delivers without fail.
