Oktoberfest in the Gardens

All eyes in Brisbane are turning towards an afternoon in October that promises fun, froth and an unmistakably Bavarian vibe. Oktoberfest in the Gardens is making its triumphant return to the Brisbane Showgrounds, taking over the venue for one day of celebration on Saturday, 11 October 2025, running from 1 pm to 9 pm.

Having classed itself as Australia’s biggest and most iconic Oktoberfest celebration, with recent recognition from Condé Nast Traveller as one of the top five in the world, it’s clear this fest has set the bar high. Party‑goers can expect a carnival like atmosphere with massive beer halls, stalls serving up authentic German bites alongside local favourites, roving performers, a silent disco, thrill rides, sideshow alley, DJs, on‑stage competitions and even a Berghain‑inspired “Rave Cave”.

Thanks to the City of Brisbane, this will be the first time the event is held at Brisbane Showgrounds, presenting a sprawling inner‑city setting perfect for the garden party meets festival vibe. If you’re heading along, public transport is your friend with train access via Bowen Hills or Fortitude Valley stations, plus nearby buses. Driving is also possible, with parking available near Gate 5 off O’Connell Terrace.

General admission starts between $49.90 and $79.90, based on how early you commit, while VIP passesis packed with perks like priority entry, dedicated bars, a commemorative stein, drink vouchers, buffet lunch and private facilities for around $154.90.

Whether you’re eager to don your lederhosen or dirndl, chase steins of imported German beer, tackle a tilt-a-whirl, compete in a stein-holding showdown, or simply dance under the Brisbane sky, this is the Oktoberfest Brisbane has been waiting for. Prost to what’s sure to be a frothy, fun-filled day!
