Where the Greens Meet Nature
If you’ve never played a round of golf with a mob of kangaroos casually grazing by the green, Straddie’s your chance. North Stradbroke Island Golf Club is a bit of a local legend. Perched high on the slopes near Mt Hargrave and only a few minutes from the ferry at Dunwich, this bush lined course delivers some of the best views on the island. Brown Lake glimmering in the distance, Moreton Bay stretching all the way back to the mainland and the Glasshouse Mountains faintly peeking through if the weather’s playing nice. It’s a nine-hole course with 18 tees, which basically means you can double up for the full experience and trust us, it’s worth it. You’ll be weaving through native scrub, tackling sandy lies and watching for the odd koala in the treetops.

There’s free mini-golf for the kids (or adults with questionable short games) and a licensed clubhouse called The Nineteenth where you can settle in for a laid back lunch. Grab a seat on the deck, order something cold and take in that million dollar view. Whether you’re there for a hit or just tagging along for the vibe, this place is peak Straddie.
