The Star Brisbane is marking Lunar New Year with a multi-day program of food, culture and night time festivities across the precinct this February, celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse.
From 17 to 22 February, the Leisure Deck becomes the focal point after dark, with nightly Fire Horse lighting under the open sky, traditional lion dancing and opening-night fireworks setting the tone for the celebrations. Throughout the precinct, cherry blossom installations create festive photo moments, while the Zodiac Wall at the George Street entrance offers insight into the meaning behind the Lunar New Year traditions.
Families can book Lunar New Year portrait sessions at the Terrace photo studio (Level 4) between 16 and 22 February, with a premium package including a printed keepsake, digital image and complimentary parking.

Food plays a central role in the program. Fat Noodle is offering a Lunar New Year banquet until 28 February, while Food Quarter delivers wok-fired flavours for more casual dining. For something more elevated, Sokyo presents a limited-time three-course lobster experience from 18 to 22 February, featuring lobster sashimi with white soy, gold leaf and wasabi.

The celebrations wrap up with open-air screenings of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Turning Red on 25 and 26 February, rounding out the program with relaxed evening entertainment.
From fireworks and food to family-friendly experiences, The Star Brisbane’s Lunar New Year celebrations offer multiple ways to welcome the season across February.
