Lulu Ramen

Ramen. Who doesn’t love it? That glorious bowl of slurp worthy noodles swimming in a steaming, flavour packed broth, topped with tender meats, springy veggies and that all important ajitama egg. The classic Japanese dish has fast become Brisbane’s go to winter warmer and honestly, can you blame us? Nothing quite hits the spot like a good bowl of ramen when the chill sets in.

If you think ramen’s all pork broth and boiled eggs, you clearly haven’t been to Lulu. Tucked into the rolling hills of Paddington, this new local favourite is quietly throwing out the rulebook. Chicken ramen with cappuccino foam? Tick. Creamy green matcha broth with duck? Tick. A dedicated takeaway ramen bowl for your dog? Also tick. It’s weird, it’s wonderful and it somehow all makes perfect sense.

Take their now iconic Chicken Ramen Cappuccino. It gets its name from the foamy top, not because there’s any coffee involved. It’s a creamy white chicken broth topped with frothy foam, deep fried enoki, lotus root, bamboo shoots and a light dusting of pepper.

Then there’s the Matcha Sansho Duck Creamy Ramen, a silky green broth infused with scallop, topped with tender sous vide duck and fried mushrooms. You can spike it with wasabi if you’re game.

And yes, there’s Doggy Ramen, a pup friendly mix of chicken, broth, noodles and corn. Just a wholesome little bowl so your best mate isn’t left out.
