Links Hope Island

Since opening in March 1993, the golf course at Hope Island has consistently ranked amongst Australia’s leading resort courses. Host to the 1997 Johnnie Walker Classic (won by Ernie Els) soon after its opening, the course enjoys and national and international reputation. Designed by five times British Open Champion and one of the true greats of Australian golf, Peter Thomson, and his design partner, Mike Wolveridge, the layout is rated by Australian golfing legend, Peter Senior, as “one of the best championship links courses you’ll play”. The iconic course forms the centrepiece of the Hope Island Resort located on the north side of the Gold Coast.

Located on the stunning Gold Coast, a short drive from the excitement of Surfers Paradise and under an hour away from the bustling Brisbane CBD, Links Golf & Wellbeing is the centrepiece of Hope Island Resort. With its 5-Star facilities and consistently high rankings amongst Australia’s leading resort courses, Links Golf & Wellbeing is the ultimate destination for corporate and social golf, functions and events.

Your day begins with a friendly welcome from our concierge and may include a meal on the Terrace. A careful and thoughtful approach is required while you navigate the Par 72 course, avoiding the natural and man-made hazards including numerous strategically positioned pot style bunkers.

Late in the round, Links’ signature hole, the Par 3 17th, is a challenge for any golfer and is an experience in courage or folly. At 224m off the black tees and 180m off the whites and a lengthy carry across water, many players will struggle to reach the green due to the prevailing headwind. One may therefore consider playing this as a par 4 rather than a par 3, but then again, golf is all about decisions.

The finishing hole, the par 5 18th, provides visitors with a magnificent view back along the lake to the left and towards the clubhouse in the distance. With over 500 metres remaining to your round, there is plenty yet to see and negotiate. A delightful end to an enjoyable day..

The Course:
18 holes. Open parkland. Relatively flat terrain – easy to walk.
