If your idea of a good time involves eating your body weight in Japanese street food with a cold Suntory in hand, Japan StrEAT Party has your April sorted. The festival rolls into the RNA Showgrounds from April 10 to 19, and the best part? Not a single dollar at the door.
The event showcases authentic Japanese street food freshly prepared on-site by experienced Japanese chefs and vendors, alongside a wide variety of sake, non-alcoholic drinks, teas, and other popular Japanese beverages curated to pair with the food on offer.
There’s a cultural thread running through it too. Tensui Australia Inc., Australia’s first officially recognised Awa Odori team, will perform at the event, bringing with them one of Japan’s most beloved traditional dance forms, which has over 400 years of history.
Brisbane’s run is the longest stop on the national tour. Wear comfortable shoes, skip lunch, and come hungry.
