Iceworld

School holidays roll around and suddenly the question hits: how are we going to keep the kids entertained this time? If the weather’s doing its usual Brisbane thing (read: chaotic), we’ve got a cool, literally, solution.

Iceworld is your answer. This is where you trade thongs for skates and step into a full blown wintery escape, minus the passport. Whether your kid’s a first-time wobbler clinging to the rails or already channelling their inner figure skater, the vibe is easy and fun for all ages (yes, even you).

Public skating sessions run regularly, so you can jump in when it suits. It’s the kind of activity that tires them out and earns you solid “best parent ever” points. Win win.

Got a kid who suddenly wants to learn properly? Iceworld’s learn-to-skate programs have you covered, from total beginners to more confident skaters looking to level up. The coaches actually know their stuff, so it’s not just chaotic slipping and sliding, although that is half the fun.

If you’re planning something a bit bigger, they also do birthday parties and group bookings. Minimal effort, maximum fun. During the holidays, things get a little extra with themed sessions and seasonal events. Think Halloween on ice or festive Christmas skates.

There’s also an on-site café for when the inevitable “I’m starving” kicks in five minutes after getting on the rink.

You’ll find Iceworld at two Brisbane locations: Ice World Acacia Ridge & Ice World Boondall. Same icy goodness, just pick your side of town.
