If you reckon Queensland doesn’t do a proper winter, think again because the Granite Belt Christmas Farm is your excuse to pretend it’s the North Pole without leaving the state. This place is Christmas on tap all year round, complete with rows of real pine trees, farm animals and a shop so full of shiny baubles it’d make even the Grinch crack a smile.

Brad and Katrina Fraser kicked this jolly venture off back in 2017, starting with just 1,000 baby trees and a pram in tow. Fast forward and now there are over 15,000 Christmas trees swaying in the breeze, each one hand shaped to festive perfection. Sure, you can come back in December and choose your very own but the fun’s not just for summer. Winter here feels like Christmas in July turned up to eleven.

Grab a Belgian hot chocolate from Mrs Claus’ Kitchen, then wander through the misty plantation like you’re living out your own cheesy Christmas movie. There’s even a bunch of farm animals hanging about, ready for pats, feeds and a sneaky selfie or two. And if you’ve got an addiction to tinsel, good luck escaping the Mistletoe Store without at least one bag of glittery goodies. They stock over 20,000 decorations so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
So when Brisbane’s winter just isn’t cutting it, hit the road to Stanthorpe and get your festive fix at Granite Belt Christmas Farm. It’s wholesome and the perfect excuse to wear that daggy Christmas jumper while you sip hot choc and pretend you’re somewhere snowy.
