Sure, Byron’s beaches are world famous, but the real magic happens when you swap your towel for a paddle and head out on the water. That’s where Go Sea Kayak comes in, sending you paddling alongside dolphins, waving at turtles and maybe even spotting a whale or two cruising by. It’s no wonder they’ve been crowned ‘Best Eco Tour in NSW’ two years running.
Owned by local surf lifesaver Kurt Tutt and staffed by seasoned surf lifesavers, Go Sea’s tours run twice daily, 365 days a year. All paddlers get a quick sea kayak lesson on the beach before heading out, perfect for beginners and those who just want to take it easy.

Once you’re on the water, the Cape Byron Marine Park unfolds in all its glory. Kayak past the iconic lighthouse, drift over ancient volcanic reefs where turtles graze and keep your eyes peeled for dolphins swimming alongside your boat. From June to November, humpback whales also make an appearance, adding a serious wow factor to the experience.
Go Sea Kayak is so confident you’ll spot wildlife that they’ve coined the Go Sea Guarantee. If you don’t see a dolphin, turtle or whale, you can paddle again for free. Wetsuits and safety gear are included and you’ll be guided by locals who not only know the waters but also share stories of Byron’s history, culture and marine life as you go.

Tours last around two to two and a half hours and start from $89 per person, with everything organised so all you need is swimwear, a hat, towel and water bottle.
Whether you’re a couple looking for a new kind of date, a family with older kids or just a group of mates chasing some fun on the water, Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay delivers the quintessential coastal escape.
