Brisbane is about to get a whole lot more Italian when Festitalia returns to the RNA Showgrounds on Sunday 7 September from 11am to 6pm. This all-day celebration brings the music, food and fun of Italy to the heart of the city and promises a Father’s Day with a little extra flavour.
The atmosphere will hit you the moment you arrive. Opera soaring through the air, folk bands bringing the rhythm, and pizza dough spinning high above the crowd thanks to world-champion pizza acrobat Youssef Ben Touati. The entertainment lineup is packed with Tarantella dance lessons, roving street theatre, opera performances, live bands and rising stars like guitar prodigy Henry Catania.

Food lovers are in for a treat with Nonna’s Kitchen serving up traditional family recipes alongside wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta, gelato carts, espresso bars and plenty of Italian wines. It will be impossible to leave hungry.
Festitalia is also about community and fun, with competitions like Best Dressed Italian Dad, Nonna’s Slipper Throw and the famous Dad with the Biggest Pancia contest. Kids can check out a Roman military camp, vintage Italian cars, fencing lessons and even a petting zoo, so there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

More than just a festival, Festitalia is a celebration of Italian culture and heritage, brought to life by the passion of Brisbane’s Italian community. It is the perfect way to spend Father’s Day surrounded by music, food, laughter and a whole lot of Italian spirit.
