Alright, so you’ve locked in that weekend escape to Tamborine Mountain. Good move. Now, what’s the plan? Sure, you’ll hit the cute cafes, wander the gallery walk, maybe sip your way through a cellar door or two, but don’t skip the waterfalls. This mountain’s got some cracking ones and winter is when they really show off.
Cedar Creek Falls
The classic. If you grew up anywhere near here, you probably jumped off these rocks at least once in your teenage years. Cedar Creek is all clear pools and little cascades, hidden down in a green gorge. It’s busiest in summer but blissfully quiet now, perfect if you want a picnic spot that comes with running water (the nice kind). Cold plunge? That’s on you.

Curtis Falls
This one’s a short stroll, easy on the legs, big on rainforest vibes. Towering gums, tangled vines, the works. The waterfall drops straight down into a pool you can’t swim in (the local glow worms would prefer you didn’t) but it’s a beaut to watch. Keep an eye out for platypus too if you’re lucky.

Cameron Falls
Bit more of a wander, but worth every step. The Sandy Creek Circuit winds you past creeks and palm groves until you hit the lookout. After rain, Cameron Falls really goes for it, pouring down into the valley below. If you brought your hot coffee in a flask, this is the spot to crack it open.

Witches Falls
No waterfall wrap up is complete without this one! Queensland’s first national park and still a favourite. The trail dips through open forest then dives into lush pockets of rainforest before you reach the falls. They’re best seen after a good downpour when the water spills over the basalt rock like a curtain. You won’t swim here, but you will clock up smug step counts on your fitness app.
