Chargrill Charlie’s New Farm

Chargrill Charlie’s, the beloved Sydney-born chicken institution, has officially landed in Brisbane, opening its first Queensland location in New Farm on June 28, 2025. The new store, situated at 92 Merthyr Road, is the culmination of a personal journey for Brisbane Broncos player Jack Gosiewski and his partner Avalon McRae, who are the franchisees behind the launch. Their love for Chargrill Charlie’s began on their first date in Sydney and now they’re bringing that passion to their local community.

The New Farm outlet offers Chargrill Charlie’s signature menu, featuring rotisserie chicken available in traditional seasoning or a Portugues inspired marinade. Beyond chicken, the menu includes loaded burgers, crispy rolls, DIY plates, fresh salads and a variety of sides like mac ‘n’ cheese, pad Thai and their famed chips. A rotating selection of up to 15 fresh salads and baked vegetables is also available daily.

The restaurant provides seating for 44 guests with full dine-in service, but also caters to takeaway customers. McRae suggests that enjoying a meal from Chargrill Charlie’s in nearby New Farm Park could be the perfect way to savor their offerings.

To celebrate the opening, a grand-opening event is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, where the first 300 visitors will receive free schnitzel rolls.

Looking ahead, Chargrill Charlie’s plans to expand further in Queensland, with new locations in West End and Bulimba set to open in 2026.
