Book lovers, this one’s for you.
Brisbane Writers Festival is returning this October for four days of authors, stories, big ideas and plenty of good conversations at Brisbane Powerhouse.
The 2026 program features more than 200 Australian and international writers, with talks covering everything from fiction and crime to food, politics, parenting, history and wellbeing. So, whether you’re a serious bookworm or someone who just likes hearing interesting people talk about interesting things, there’s plenty to choose from.
One of the big names this year is Alice Oseman, author and illustrator of Heartstopper, who will appear in conversation with Australian writer Claire Christian. Booker Prize-winning author Yann Martel, best known for Life of Pi, is also on the program.
Bring a friend, grab a coffee and prepare to leave with a much longer reading list than you started with.
