Angelika Cinemas

Angelika Cinemas in Woolloongabba brings something new to Brisbane’s film scene. It’s the first international location for the New York born Angelika Film Centre, a name known for pairing arthouse programming with a premium experience. Located in the South/City/SQ precinct, the cinema sits across eight luxury auditoriums fitted with recliner seating, sharp laser projection and surround sound that doesn’t miss a detail.

Three of the screens operate as SoHo Lounge auditoriums, where you can skip the snack bar entirely. Wine, cocktails and bites are delivered to your seat and you’re not squeezed into a row of stiff armrests.

What makes Angelika stand apart is how it treats cinema as the main event. The programming leans into independent, local and international films without losing sight of bigger titles. You’ll find a mix of new releases, festival favourites and special screenings that rarely show at standard chains. It’s curated with intent and offered with comfort, bridging the gap between boutique cinema and a night out.
