Finding a neighbourhood wine bar that genuinely nails the brief is about as tricky as picking a good bottle blindfolded. Lucky for Wynnum locals, Adelita Wine Bar has done all the legwork, bringing a fresh dose of bayside charm with a serious splash of sophistication. Perched on the corner across from Greene Park, this emerald hued beauty is a local gem worth getting to know.

Locals can’t get enough of Adelita Wine Bar and it’s easy to see why. The menu changes regularly with the seasons, built around fresh, locally sourced ingredients that celebrate what’s best right now. Starters might include oysters in pear and ginger mignonette, potato rosti topped with beef tartare and smoked yolk or baked scallops with koji butter and herb crumb.
There are just a handful of mains, but every one of them pulls weight. The Tajima wagyu rump cap comes with silky Paris mash and a rich bordelaise sauce or the Ruby Creek mushroom risotto topped with jerusalem artichoke and pecorino. Desserts bring a creative spin on Aussie favourites, like a wattleseed brownie with stout caramel and barley ice cream or poached quince with white chocolate and bee pollen.

On Wednesdays, the Steak & Frites special is the move. From 4 pm, you can tuck into Tajima wagyu with golden frites and a glass of house Cabernet Shiraz or Verdelho for just $50.
It wouldn’t be a true wine bar without an impressive wine list and Adelita’s got one. The forever rotating selection spans everything from local favourites to international standouts, with hundreds of bottles to explore.

So, grab a seat at the bar, let the wine flow and prepare to eat far more than you meant to.
